Hi,
The other day i was trying to install Windows XP SP3 on my home systems after its release. Unfortunately, I couldn't in the first attempt. The message that was displayed was "Access denied".
I had disbaled the Antivirus software but to no rescue. Then i had removed the antivirus software & Disablee the services of Windows Defender after which i could successfully install SP3.
A lot of sites have recommended to write a script reset.cmd to provide sufficient access to administrator account which i felt was not required.
Microsoft also has a an Article ID:950717 which gives you information about steps to take before installing XP SP3.
People who are planning to go for the upgrade kindly disable or remove any services protecting the system for the upgrade. How are the corporates going to handle this.
